    We are really pleased to see you here and hope you enjoy our Virtual Taster Day Experience.

    In this area you will find various activities  for your LIVE event with us on Wednesday 23 June 2021 from 10.30am - 12pm.

    You will need to access the Teams Meeting ready to start working with us at 10.30am. 

    You should have your camera switched off but you will need to have a working microphone in your device so that we can hear you talk should you wish to.

    By sharing video with us you agree to the video being used by Loughborough College and shared with the other participants in the meeting.

    To help you on the day there will be a power point which tutors will guide you through, there will be items like:

    1. Meet your tutors”
    2. Demonstrations in the kitchen, restaurant and bar
    3. Complete the activities
    4. Fun, interesting activities that give you an insight into the life of hospitality!

      Over the summer you will need to complete the following English & math tasks.

      WHY?

      Within the hospitality industry it is very important to have a basic level of English as you have to be able to read and write menus, bills, recipes and customer checks for the kitchen staff - to name a few. 

      Math you have to be able to rescale recipes work out cooking times and temperatures, ratios and percentages of ingredients.
